In the heart of the lush Punakha Valley, fringed by thick pine forests and overlooking hundreds of paddy fields, lies Dhensa Boutique Resort.
Dhensa Punakha marries contemporary design with this Himalayan Kingdom’s ancient and alluring ways. This boutique hotel overlooks the Punakha River and hundreds of paddy fields that cascade down to the valley floor. It is surrounded by plentiful walking and trekking trails and is just a five minute trek up the mountain to the magnificent Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Lhakhang Nunnery, which houses one of the largest bronze statues of Chenrigzig in the country.
The modern suites are set in six cottages, all with private balconies from which to view the surrounding forest and valley. These private sanctuaries encapsulate the beauty of simplicity - the spacious interiors are deliberately understated in design.
