- Just over 2 miles away is the wonderful Anchor Inn, serving amazing home cooked food and the best pies!
- Perfectly situated near to the banks of the River Derwent with a boat house and fishing permits available for a small fee.
- Golf lovers will be able to book a place at the famous Slaley Hall course just 15 miles away or the the closer course at Consett which is just 3 miles away
Northumberland is home to the historic Hadrian's Wall which spans 73 miles from coast to coast and is now recognised as a World Heritage Site. The lodges are close to Consett, the third highest market town in England. Here you will find numerous shops and places to eat as well as activities for children. Just 20 minutes away is the Metro Centre, with shops, restaurants and a cinema, perfect for a day of retail therapy. With Hexham just a 15 mile drive away with lots of facilities and amenities including a leisure centre, bowling alley, supermarkets, shops and a farmers market!
Many guests enjoy the wonderful surroundings and walks on offer during their stay. Discover the North Pennines or the Northumberland National Park! Or visit Durham Cathedral & Durham Castle situated just 20 minutes away. Restricted Mobility Lodge
The restricted mobility lodge is pet friendly and provides tranquil surroundings with spectacular views. This lodge has ramped access, wheelchair accessible wider doors, a disabled shower cubicle in the main bathroom with a raised toilet and grab rails. In the main bedroom, there is a rail and portable hoist system and sling to assist guests. The covered hot tub with it's incredible views is also fitted with a rail for the portable hoist and seperate outdoor sling.
Some of our guests hire a profile bed (additional charge), of which we can facilitate delivery and set up before arrival and collection after departure if required. All but one of these Lodges are pet friendly, and with such wonderful local walks this is the perfect luxury break for any pampered pooch (see our very own Skye enjoying her annual Northumberland Lodge trip in the pictures). We do ask for an additional £20 per booking per dog, up to a maximum of 2 dogs. 2 Lodges have enclosed gardens too! If you have any questions regarding this please do let us know.
